VERSAILLES — Indiana conservation officers are investigating the disappearance of 18-year-old Carson Hughes of Osgood in Ripley County.
At 1:30 p.m. Friday, Ripley County dispatch received a report Hughes was missing at Versailles Lake within Versailles State Park. Hughes has family in Lawrence County.
His vehicle was found unlocked, with the keys still inside, near the boat ramp, and his kayak was on the water nearby.
Officials searched on land and water near his vehicle using thermal and side-scan sonar technologies. Due to darkness and unsafe search conditions, the search was suspended Friday night but will continue today.
Officials ask that anyone with information on Hughes’ whereabouts call the Indiana DNR Division of Law Enforcement Central Dispatch at 812-837-9536.
