TERRE HAUTE – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) collaborates with the Wabash Valley Health Center (WVHC) and Terre Haute Housing Authority (THHA) to ensure participants who may be eligible for Medicaid undergo redeterminations, ensuring access to potential benefits.
Individuals enrolled in Medicaid experienced uninterrupted coverage throughout the COVID-19 public health emergency.
However, the conclusion of the public health emergency prompted Medicaid redetermination for all beneficiaries.
This process began in April 2023 and is scheduled to conclude in April 2024. Medicaid will evaluate each case individually; some will undergo automatic redetermination based on available information, while others may receive correspondence requesting updated details such as current address, household income, and family size.
This initiative, led by THHA and WVHC aims to facilitate convenient access to assistance for those requiring support with their Medicaid coverage. It involves bringing WVHC health insurance enrollment services onsite to various THHA locations across the City of Terre Haute.
The service is open to all community members needing Medicaid assistance, with no cost incurred by individuals or families.
