MARION – On Monday, March 25, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., Karen Swallow Prior, noted independent author and columnist, will lead a thought-provoking discussion at the Globe Theater.
The event will focus on Dr. Lanta Davis’s forthcoming book, “Becoming and Beholding: The Power of the Imagination in Spiritual Formation.” Davis is an Associate Professor of Humanities and Literature at John Wesley Honors College.
Dr. Davis is excited to participate in the conversation and says, “It’s difficult to imagine a scholar I’d be more excited to chat with than Karen Swallow Prior. Sometimes, scholarship feels so specialized that only a handful of people can appreciate it. But she translates complex ideas to help communicate why what we study deeply matters and how it affects the world that we live in.”
The conversation promises to delve into the relationship between imagination and spiritual development, as explored in Dr. Davis’ new book published by Baker Academic. Prior and Davis will discuss the transformative potential of the imagination in shaping one’s spiritual journey.
Dr. Jeff Tabone, Assistant Professor of Humanities and Director of Programs at Student Formation for the John Wesley Honors College, will host the evening, ensuring a dynamic and engaging discussion. The event offers a unique opportunity for students and the IWU community to gain insights into the imagination’s profound influence and interact with esteemed scholars and thinkers in the field.
The event will occur on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 4:00 pm in the Globe Theater on Indiana Wesleyan University’s campus. All are invited to attend this intellectually stimulating and spiritually enriching event.
