MITCHELL – Calling all bluegrass and country music fans, Backwoods Bluegrass Band will perform at Mitchell Opera House on March 30th at 7:00 p.m.
Coming from Southern Indiana, Backwoods is a traditional-style quartet bluegrass band that frequently incorporates 90s country hits and classic country into their set without straying too far away from the foundation of bluegrass music. You are likely to hear songs from Johnny Cash, Johnny Paycheck, Merle Haggard, George Strait, Roger Miller, Susie Bogguss, and Tammy Wynette, along with songs from the bluegrass greats such as the Bluegrass Album Band.
Band members include Rusty Collier, Austin Harper, Hunter Phillips, and Sarah Stewart.
The band has traveled all over Indiana and Kentucky at several festivals, from the Shipshewana Down Home Bluegrass Festival, Nappanee Apple Festival, The Indiana Homesteading Conference, to Brandenburg Kentucky Homecoming Festival, and Louisville, Kentucky for corporate events.
Catch some of your favorite country and bluegrass songs such as Lovebug by George Strait, Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident) by John Michael Montgomery, Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash, and even Ramblin’ Fever by Merle Haggard.
Backwoods Bluegrass Band truly stretches the genre of bluegrass and brings together many music fans from all
around.
