Seymour police arrest man accused of operating illegal dental practice

SEYMOUR — Police arrested a man in Seymour for operating a dentist’s office without a license.

According to a Seymour Police Department release, officers began investigating on March 19 after a complaint that 31-year-old Fredy Felipe Pascual, also known as Freddie Chapin had been illegally practicing dentistry without an Indiana state license out of a home in Seymour.

Officers went to a residence on Gaiser Drive and executed a search warrant on March 20.

Officers found various dental instruments, including medications, ledgers, and other miscellaneous items. Police confirmed that authorities also found unspecified money inside the residence.

Investigators subsequently arrested Pascual and transported him to the Jackson County Jail, where he is being held on charges of criminal recklessness, unlawful practice of medicine/osteopathic medicine, possessing, producing, or distributing false government identification, and possession of a legend drug or precursor.

After being detained, Pascual declined to be interviewed by investigators.

The case remains under investigation, and other charges are possible.
