BLOOMINGTON – After experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse, have your mind blown again on the big screen with Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Constellation Stage & Screen is excited to present a special total solar eclipse screening of Stanley Kubrick’s renowned film on Monday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Waldron Firebay.
Widely considered one of the greatest films ever made, 2001 is a quintessential mind-bending marriage of sight and sound, an experience so exquisitely and expertly crafted that some people believe, to this day, that Kubrick helped fake the Apollo moon landing. Based on a collection of short stories written by Arthur Clarke in 1951 under the title “Sentinel of Eternity,” the film brilliantly brings together themes of human development, technology, and the future of Artificial Intelligence.
Tickets can be purchased through the Constellation Box Office for $8 in advance or $12 at the door. Concessions, including beer, wine, and assorted cocktails, will be available throughout the screening.
