MONROE CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Crider and Crider, Inc. is scheduled to reduce eastbound and westbound State Road 45/46 to one lane between North Kinser Pike and Arlington Road on or after Tuesday, April 9, to complete an intersection improvement project in Bloomington.
The project will take place just east of the I-69 interchange in Bloomington. Crews will begin initial work by closing the inside lane of eastbound and westbound S.R. 45/46 to complete HMA patching near the intersection of Stonelake Drive. Initial work is expected to be complete by Monday, April 15, weather permitting.
Following the completion of initial work, crews will close the outside lanes of eastbound and westbound S.R. 45/46 to begin intersection improvement work at Monroe Street and Stonelake Drive and off-ramp construction work from S.R. 45/46 onto Arlington Road. Lane closures are expected to remain in place through November 2024, weather permitting. Motorists cannot access Monroe Street from S.R. 45/46 until late August 2024, weather permitting.
This project is part of a $9.5 million contract awarded to Crider and Crider in February 2024 and is currently scheduled for completion in late July 2025. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
