MITCHELL – A Mitchell woman is facing domestic battery charges for causing moderate bodily injury after she allegedly threw a fruit bowl and knife at a man during a domestic dispute.
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Bailey Duprey responded to a home in the 300 block of Old US 50 on Thursday, March 28, at 8:43 a.m.
When Deputy Duprey arrived, he found a male in the front yard attempting to avoid 40-year-old Kristie Eicle. Both began arguing their points of view. A third male was also at the scene.
The officer separated all the parties.
The home was in disarray. Glass covered a couch, and two televisions were broken. A television was also broken in a bedroom.
One male told police that Eicle had broken all the televisions and had thrown a knife and a fruit bowl at him. He said one of the items hit him, and he was bleeding, but he couldn’t tell police which item had hit him.
Police say the male was bleeding from his left ear, and there was a shard of glass lodged in his ear.
He refused to sign a battery affidavit.
Eicle told police all the items she had broken and thrown belonged to her. She said she threw the items on the ground and not at the male. She also admitted to breaking a surveillance camera off the west side of the home’s exterior and throwing several items in the yard.
Deputy Whitney Daugherty also responded to the scene.
The second male on the scene was the son of the injured male. He told police he heard about the fight over a phone call and came to the scene to look for a dog that had run off during the dispute. He told police when he arrived, he found his father and Eicle screaming at each other.
Eicle was detained and then refused to speak to officers.
