“We provide an essential, critical service, and the decision to delay trash and recycling collection was not made lightly,” said Eric Curtis, region vice president of Rumpke. We are heeding the advice of state emergency services and planning for travel complications due to anticipated heavy traffic from eclipse watchers. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.”
Curtis added that placing material at the curb the night before scheduled collection is a good practice, as collection times can vary.
Rumpke will return to its regular collection schedule the following week.
