JENNINGS CO. – The Jenning County Jail Commander faces termination after being arrested over the weekend.
A Jennings County deputy patrolled Highway 50 East in Butlerville when a passenger van veered across the center line and nearly struck his patrol car head-on.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop of Natasha Goins, the commander of the Jennings County Jail. The deputy noticed signs of alcohol impairment from Goins and contacted Indiana State Police to take over the investigation.
Goins was arrested and booked into the Ripley County Jail. As of Monday morning, online court records showed formal charges had not yet been filed.
“The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents, and we hold our personnel to the highest standards of conduct,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement posted on Facebook.
Goins has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending termination.
