SCOTT CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation maintenance crews are scheduled to close State Road 56 east of Scottsburg on or after Tuesday, April 9, to complete a culvert replacement in Scott County. The closure was expected to begin as soon as Monday, April 1.
The closure along S.R. 56 will occur between State Road 203 and State Road 3 and is expected to take up to one day, weather permitting. Crews plan to begin work at 8 a.m. and complete work by approximately 5 p.m. the same evening. During the closure, westbound motorists should detour using S.R. 3 and U.S. 31, while eastbound motorists should detour using S.R. 203 to S.R. 256 to S.R. 3 and back to S.R. 56.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, be cautious, and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
