Man admits to violating a protective order by throwing a beer bottle

SPRINGVILLE – Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested a man after they said he violated a protective order.

Brandon Godsey

Police arrested Brandon Godsey, 47, of Springville, on a charge of invasion of privacy.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Deputies Kenton Carter and Brenton Trueblood responded to the 1000 block of Steve Earl Road after a report of a protective order violation.

When police arrived, they spoke to a male who reported that Godsey had parked his vehicle in his driveway. The male had a video of the incident.

A female at the home gave police the vehicle’s license plate number, and it returned to a grey F-150 belonging to Godsey.

The video also showed Godsey throwing a beer bottle out of the vehicle window as he was driving by the residence.

Officers then contacted Godsey about the incident. Officers went to a home in the 300 block of Red Hill Addition Road and detained Godsey.

Godsey told police he went to the home because he “heard some things about his old property”. He finally admitted to throwing the beer bottle out of his truck window.
