SPRINGVILLE— Firefighters battled a fire on Friday at State Road 54 Storage, located on State Road 54 near Greer Lane in Springville.
The fire was reported at 9:31 a.m. Firefighters from Perry and Indian Creek Townships, Indian Lawrence County Fire Territory, Marshall Township and Oolitic Volunteer Fire Departments, and Eastern Greene Fire Territory responded.
Extra manpower and tankers were needed to battle the blaze.
Firefighters remained on the scene for most of Friday.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department assisted with traffic control.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office has been contacted to help investigate the cause of the blaze.
