BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested after Bedford Police Major Louden discovered the man had stolen from Walmart.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of 22-year-old Brandon Spencer. He was detained on the warrant on Saturday, April 13.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on January 18, 2024, Walmart reported they had information that an unknown male skip-scanning items on January 31. Police say the video captured 22-year-old Brandon Spencer failing to scan a car amplifier valued at $99.87.
Officers spoke to Spencer after Officer Landon Jones spotted Spencer and his girlfriend in the Walmart parking lot on February 28. Spencer was stopped and asked about the theft. He asked if he could pay for the amplifier. When asked why he took the amplifier, he stated he needed to speak to an attorney.
Due to Spencer’s criminal history, the information was sent to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office, and a warrant was issued for Spencer’s arrest.
