BLOOMINGTON – Two Troopers from the Bloomington District attended and received awards during the Indiana State Police’s Awards Ceremony for their efforts and work in 2023.
The awards ceremony was held at the Indiana Government Center South Auditorium.
Superintendent Douglas G. Carter presented Trooper Cody R. Brown with the 2023 District DUI Award for the Bloomington District. Trooper Brown is a 2012 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School and a graduate of the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in October 2016. He serves on the Tactical Intervention Platoon and as Field Training Officer.
Superintendent Carter presented Trooper Ben W. Burris with the 2023 Trooper of the District Award for the Bloomington District. Trooper Burris graduated from Mitchell High School in 2014 and the 80th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Ivy Tech Community College and currently serves as a Field Training Officer for the Bloomington District. He also serves on the Tactical Intervention Platoon.
