JASPER – Bedford North Lawrence conquered Jasper and Perry Central during Unified track action on Wednesday.
The Stars totaled 146 points, followed by the Wildcats (99) and Commodores (65).
Winners for BNL included Trace Walters (39-8 in the shot put), Rex Evans (shot put), Josh Morales (1:09.51 in the 400 meter race and 15-8 in the long jump), Elizabeth Barnett (400 and long jump), Jaxon Donnell (13.01 in the 100), Deja Hanners (100) and both 400 relays.
“The kids had an amazing night,” BNL coach Mike Branam said. “We had personal bests in every event. Everyone on the team stepped up and did a wonderful job. We enjoy the competition and camaraderie at Jasper every year. It usually sets the tone for the rest of our season, and I hope that is true this year.”
BNL will compete at Bloomington South on Tuesday.
