PENDLETON— Indiana State Police District Commander Lieutenant Michael O’Rourke recently announced the recipient of the 2023 Indiana State Police Pendleton District Trooper of the Year Award. This honor is bestowed upon the district trooper who best exemplifies the department’s high standards and expectations as they relate to the department’s mission.
The 2023 Pendleton District Trooper of the Year is Master Trooper Chris Noone. Master Trooper Chris Noone received his award yesterday from Superintendent Douglas G. Carter at the Indiana State Police award ceremony held in Indianapolis. Trooper Noone’s performance and accomplishments during 2023 are worthy of such recognition. Trooper Noone is a twenty-eight-year veteran of the Indiana State Police.
Master Trooper Chris Noone was recognized by the Pendleton District Command Staff and his peers as a top-tier performer. During 2023, Trooper Noone focused on traffic enforcement and building relationships with students and faculty in the local school system. His traffic enforcement efforts resulted in 953 vehicle stops, 418 traffic citations, and 756 warnings. Trooper Noone participated in many school walkthroughs and interacted with students, creating a positive relationship with the next generation and law enforcement professionals. Noone was also very active in school zone patrols during school hours and would follow school buses to enforce school bus stop arm violations.
Master Trooper Chris Noone’s criminal arrests were impressive for the district. He made 51 total criminal arrests, which included five felony arrests.
Master Trooper Chris Noone currently resides in Madison County with his wife, Daphne.
