JEFFERSONVILLE – Jeffersonville did all its damage in one inning. And it was enough.
The Red Devils erupted for seven runs in the second to conquer Bedford North Lawrence 7-3 during high school baseball action on Friday night.
Jeffersonville scored all seven runs without a hit during the decisive rally. BNL pitchers issued four walks and hit two batters, and the Stars were guilty of two key errors during a rare breakdown.
BNL scored in the second on Trace Rynders’ two-out RBI single. After the Devils took the lead, the Stars scored in the sixth (on a Cal Gates bases-loaded walk) and seventh (Walker Ward’s two-out RBI single). Ward and Rynders had two hits each. Jeff starter Logan Bingham struck out 9 in six innings.
The Devils (6-3) had only three hits.
BNL (7-4) will host Shakamak on Monday.
