BEDFORD – A Mitchell man was arrested on a warrant for invasion of privacy after an incident on Wednesday, March 13.
That day, a female came to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department. She spoke to Deputy James, saying that 31-year-old Gary Turner was still communicating with her in violation of a protective order.
She reported that Turner started calling her around 8:30 p.m. and continued until she finally answered around 11:00 p.m. He also sent numerous text messages. She told Officer James that Turner had been following her family and harassing them.
Officer James spoke to Turner, who said he was just trying to tell his children good night. When asked if he was harassing the woman’s family, he said, “he does not talk or waste any time on them.”
According to Officer Turner, this was not the first time Turner had violated the protective order.
The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on a charge of violation of a protective order.
