James ‘JD’ M. Deckard, 36, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 1:50 p.m. in Bloomington.
He was born in Bloomington on November 28, 1987, to Michael Deckard and Kelly (Moffatt) Weaver. JD worked as a construction contractor and previously at Ben Tire in Bloomington. He was a loving Uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Kelly and Glen Weaver, Jr. of Bedford; father, Michael Deckard of Bloomington; two sons, Jayden Deckard of Crawfordsville and Carson Deckard of Bloomington; siblings, Brandon (Natalie) Deckard of Bloomington, Nikki Deckard of Bedford, Ashley Deckard of Bloomington and Tony McGruder of Bloomington; grandmother, Tina DeFord of Bloomington, grandparents, Glen and Karen Weaver of Bedford.
JD was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shirley and Larry Hatton, grandfather, Chester Moffatt, and grandfather, Dwight Deckard.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford, with Pastor Lindy Hopkins officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
