MORGAN CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving, Inc. plans to begin a bridge rehabilitation project on State Road 144 over the White River in Morgan County on or after Monday, May 6.
Work will take place on S.R. 144 just west of I-69 near Waverly. While work is in progress, S.R. 144 will be reduced to one lane over the White River using temporary traffic signals. Signage will be placed in the area prior to the start of construction. Weather permitting, work is expected to be complete by late November.
This work is part of a $5.2 million contract awarded to E&B Paving in March 2024. The contract includes five district bridge projects located throughout Johnson and Morgan Counties.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, be cautious, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
