Jewell Maxine Reuter, 91, of Springville, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer.
Born August 10, 1932, she was the daughter of Cleve and Thelma (Walker) Arthur. She married Elbert L. Reuter on December 9, 1950, and he preceded her in death on May 30, 1986.
Jewell was a graduate of Oolitic High School and a member of Landmark Church in Bloomington. She worked at Sarkes Tarzan, RCA, and the IU bookstore.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Mrs. Reuter are her sons, David (Theresa) Reuter and Danny (Sarah) Reuter; sisters, Margaret Hess and Anne (Lester) Saunders; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Reuter was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Reuter; her son, Gary Reuter; her parents, Cleve and Thelma (Walker) Arthur; brothers Ray Arthur, Joe Arthur, James Arthur, and Roy Arthur; and her sister, Maudie Owens.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford, with Brother Robert Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Byers Rainbolt Cemetery in Springville. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
