Robert Edward Force, 87, of Shoals, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Poplar Care Strategies, Loogootee.
Born May 9, 1936, in Washington, IN, he was the son of John T. and Margaret (McCarty) Force. Bob graduated from Shoals High School with the class of 1954 and attended Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis.
He enjoyed traveling, working construction, and attending antique and tractor shows. Bob was a member of the Air Force Reserve, Shoals Lion’s Club, White River Lodge #332, and Carpenter’s Union.
Surviving are his loving companion of 36 years, Lois Brett; brother, Jim Force; sister-in-law, Marilyn Force; son, Michael Force; daughter, Karen Force; bonus daughter, Julie Montgomery; bonus grandchildren, Samantha (Justin) Mott, Nicholas MacKinnon, and Nova Montgomery; bonus great-grandchildren, Segen and Zephy Mott; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charles T. Force.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care, with David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
