The Bedford Housing Authority is bringing the Hauck House up to new standards

BEDFORD- The Bedford Housing Authority met May 16 at the Hauck House and on the agenda was an issue with needing additional smoke detectors.

The public housing code has changed, and that is facilitating the need for additional smoke detector units to be installed. 156 battery-powered units were ordered to fill the need. The smoke detectors are sealed units, meaning the battery does not need to be replaced. The battery has enough power for 10 years, after which the unit is discarded and replaced.
