BROWNSTOWN – Bedford North Lawrence advanced three athletes to the second stage of the IHSAA state tournament series during the sectional on Thursday night.
BNL’s Braydon Patterson, Frank Decker and Tripp Stahl qualified for the regional at Bloomington North. The top three in each event advanced. The Stars finished sixth in the team competition with 48.5 points, while Springs Valley won the title (its first in school history) with 128.5.
Patterson was third in the high jump at 6-0, Frank Decker was second in the pole vault at 13-0, and Stahl was third in the shot put at 47-2.
North will host the regional, featuring qualifiers from four sectionals, on May 23.
