BEDFORD – A Bedford teen was detained after he allegedly stole a woman’s cell phone and sent money to another individual using her CashApp.

Bedford Police Department Officer Stewart Ratcliff took the report after the woman came to the Bedford Police Department just after 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17th, to report her old cell phone had been stolen and someone used her Cash App to send $50 to another person.

The female victim told police she was in Indianapolis on May 17th when she received a notification on her new cell phone someone had used her CashApp. When she returned home, she noticed her old Samsung Galaxy cell phone was missing from her bedside table in her bedroom.

On May 18, she received notifications of pictures and videos on her new cell phone, and the male teen was in the photos. The woman is related to the 16-year-old male teen. Her two phones were synced through her Google account, which is how she received the pictures and videos.
