BNL golfers finish fourth in HHC

BNL’s Tyler Bellush earned All-HHC honors as the Stars finished fourth in the conference.

NEW ALBANY – Bedford North Lawrence finished fourth in the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament during boys high school golf action at Valley View on Monday.

Floyd Central won the team title with 303, followed by New Albany (323), Columbus East (330) and BNL (344) in the seven-team event.

BNL’s Tyler Bellush earned All-HHC honors with a 77.

“Tyler played very consistently,” BNL coach Trey Turner said. “Outside of a triple bogey on 10, he didn’t make very many mistakes, so I’m very proud of the way he played.

“I thought we hit the ball pretty well. We lost some strokes around the greens, and that is something that we need to shore up soon.”

Floyd’s Cody Coleman was the medalist with a 70. The rest of the All-HHC First Team included Floyd’s Gabe Lamb (76) and Ashton Bass (77), plus New Albany’s Rossi Hamilton (78).

BNL will face Seymour and Providence at Shadowood on Tuesday.
