Darla L. (Tolbert) Thurman, 56, of Bargersville, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday May 14, 2024, at
Community South Hospital, in Greenwood, after an extended illness.
She was born on February 9, 1968, to Darrell and Magnolia (Bean) Tolbert in Lawrence County. She married Mike Thurman on July 4, 2000, and he survives.
Darla graduated from Bedford North Lawrence High School with the class of 1986. She was an extremely
talented floral designer and worked at Tarver’s Flower Shop when she resided in Bedford.
Darla was a member of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple. Darla had a beautiful, sweet smile and saw the good in everyone. She loved her family very much and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband, Mike, her mother, Maggie, and her brother, Robert Darrell Tolbert. Also her loving family: Glenda, Jennifer, Jamie, Pam, Karen, and Michael Joe. She was a special nana to Emily and Elan and adored her grandchildren and aunts, Nina Doan and Connie Flynn of Bedford.
Darla was preceded in death by her father, Darrell, Mike’s son Alan, and her grandparents, Fred and Pearl Harrell and Ray and Nola Bean.
Per Darla’s request, there will be no services.
