Traffic stop leads to the arrest and seizure of narcotics

WARREN CO. – On May 16, 2024, just after 1:00 a.m., Trooper Howell conducted a traffic stop on a 1999 Toyota Avalon near 8th Street and High Street in West Lebanon. During the stop, Trooper Howell identified the passenger as Minke Pos, 39, from Danville, IL.

While interacting with the vehicle’s occupants, Trooper Howell observed indicators of potential criminal activity and requested the assistance of a K-9 unit. Deputy Needler of the Warren County Sheriff’s Department responded with his K-9 partner, who alerted officers to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of suspected marijuana and a controlled substance. Additionally, officers located suspected methamphetamine on Pos’ person. The suspected methamphetamine had a preliminary weight of approximately 50 grams. Pos was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Warren County Jail while the vehicle’s driver was released at the scene.

The suspected methamphetamine will be sent to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for an exact determination of substance and weight.

Minke Pos, 39, from Danville, IL, faces preliminary felony charges of dealing meth, possession of meth, and misdemeanor charges of possession of a Schedule V controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Trooper Howell was assisted during the traffic stop by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
