Three killed, one injured in two-vehicle accident

DAVIESS CO. – Three people were killed in a Daviess County crash on Sunday morning.

The accident was reported at 4:49 a.m. on I-69 near the 56.5-mile marker.

According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, two vehicles were involved in the crash. The sheriff says three people inside one vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Authorities say they’re working to identify those involved, notify families, and reconstruct the crash.

Sheriff says the investigation is ongoing. More information will be released later.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Washington City Fire Department, Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department, Cannelburg Volunteer Fire Department, the Daviess County Ambulance Service, the Daviess County Coroner’s Office, the Indiana State Police, Briggeman’s Wrecker Service and Countryside Wrecker Service.
