BNL’s Ratliff, Jewell and Graves named All-HHC

BNL junior Ava Ratliff was named to the Hoosier Hills Conference First Team for the third time.

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence junior Ava Ratliff, senior Aliza Jewell and junior Kendall Graves were named to the Hoosier Hills Conference First Team by the league coaches.

Ratliff, a South Carolina recruit as a catcher, hit .482 with 14 home runs and 35 RBIs, and she set a new state career record for home runs. She drew 18 walks and struck out only four times. She was also 3-2 in the pitching circle as the Stars finished 17-11-1.

Jewell, on her way to Mount St. Joseph, hit .346 with six homers and 17 RBIs, and she had 11 wins in the circle. She finished her career with 36 career victories.

Graves, a Butler recruit at shortstop, hit .371 with 8 home runs and 30 RBIs.

Floyd Central, which won the HHC and Class 4A sectional titles, had four players on the First Team, including Peyton Drummond, Addy Ware, Emmy Miller and Nora Koehler. The rest of the squad included Columbus East’s Hermione Robinson and Baleigh Fish; Jeffersonville’s Brookalyn Miles, Aubrey Cannon and Emma Borders; Jennings County’s Mackenzie Matern and Jillian Brauer; and New Albany’s Candace Meyer.

BNL junior Kendall Graves hit 8 homers and drove in 30 runs.
