Reuben E. Wickey, 65, of Leesville, died on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 5:43 a.m.
Born March 6, 1959, in Allen Co. to Reuben R. and Effie May (Brandenberger) Wickey. He married Frances E. Schwartz on May 19, 1983, in Berne, IN, and she survives.
Surviving along with his wife is his mother, Effie May Wickey; five sons, Reuben (Louina) Wickey of Berne, IN, Henry (Rosa) Wickey of Monroe, IN, Elmer (Edith) Wickey of Decatur, IN, Daniel (Rosie) Wickey of Geneva, IN, and John Wickey (special friend Laura Schwartz), at home; four daughters, Effie May (David) Girod of Licking, MO, Irene (Jake) Neuenschwander of Geneva, IN, Mary (Enos) Schwartz of Berne, IN, and Frances Wickey (special friend Ruben Wengerd) at home; seven brothers, Elmer (Ruby) Wickey of New Haven, IN, Elam (Amanda) Wickey of Monroe, IN, David (Lisa) Wickey of Monroe, IN, Martin (Betty) Wickey of Decatur, IN, Emanuel (Elizabeth) Wickey of Means, KY, Paul (Sylvia) Wickey of Berne, IN, Daniel (Roseann) Wickey of Monroe, IN; four sisters, Frances (Joseph) Eicher of Grabill, IN, Elizabeth (Ruben) Graber of Spencerville, IN, Amy (Daniel) Steury of Flemingsburg, KY, Margaret (Daniel Jr) Schwartz of Monroe, IN; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Ernest (Josephine) Wickey of Monroe, IN; along with 29 grandchildren.
Reuben was preceded in death by his dad, Reuben R. Wickey; one brother, Ernest Wickey; and one daughter, Elizabeth.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at the Ben C. Christner residence, 674 Jasper McKeaigg Road, in Bedford, with Ben Christner officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawrence Cemetery. Visitations will also be held at the Ben C. Christner residence on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
