BEDFORD – On Sunday, May 23, at approximately 6:25 p.m., Bedford Police officers responded to the area of 22nd and M Streets after a report of a domestic fight. The caller reported that 30-year-old Arron Land had damaged a woman’s vehicle by throwing something at it, and she continued to follow him.
Major Clint Swanson located both vehicles pulled off on the side of 22nd Street, just east of M Street.
Major Swanson spoke to the woman and Sgt. Toby Gerkins spoke to Land.
The woman told police she and Land had a child together, but the two were no longer together. She said Lane uses illegal narcotics and she is worried about his health. She told police Land had followed her to her home on X Street. She told police Land was driving erratically and almost caused an accident before officers arrived.
The land then threw a cigarette lighter at her vehicle, damaging it. Police found a circular scratch/dent on the side quarter panel.
Land told police the woman wouldn’t stop following him. He told police he didn’t have a phone to call 911, so he threw the lighter at her vehicle in an attempt to get her to stop following him.
In a container on Land’s front driver’s seat police found crystal meth residue. Land told police there was a meth pipe under the middle seat.
Land was arrested on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief.
Stone City Service & Collision Center towed Land’s vehicle.
