BEDFORD – Bedford Police Department officers arrested three people on drug charges after Sgt. Faheem Bade noticed two people smoking marijuana on a porch in the 2000 block of N Street on Monday, June 3, just after midnight.
Sgt Bade attempted to contact the people, but they fled into the house as Sgt Bade and Officer Zakry Brooking approached the door. The marijuana odor was more pungent.
Officers knocked on the door several times, but no one answered. They then applied for a search warrant, which Lawrence County Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline granted.
While waiting for the search warrant, Jalen Snodgrass, Terry Lewis, and Sebastian Harp exited the home. Snodgrass handed the officer a partially smoked synthetic marijuana cigarette. The three were detained and placed in patrol vehicles.
Police asked if anyone else was inside, and they were told yes, Cody Stannard. Officers made a protective sweep of the home and located a glass bowl containing crystal meth in plain view.
Officer Daugherty found Stannard pretending to be asleep in a bedroom. He was detained. While searching Stannard, police found a metal cylindrical container with Fentanyl inside.
Armed with the search warrant police searched the home and found several unused syringes, Fentanyl pills, a broken mirror with meth residue on it, a glass jar containing two smoking devices with meth residue, several vape THC cartridges, another glass smoking device, a purple Crown Royal bag containing two smoking device with meth residue, a wooden box containing a black plastic tube with meth residue, a glass smoking device with meth residue, a mirror with meth residue, a baggie containing crystal meth and a glass bowl containing meth and Fentanyl.
In the kitchen, police found synthetic marijuana, two baggies of that contained crystal meth residue, and a digital scale with meth residue.
In the living room, police found four razor blades with meth residue.
Police found Kennedie Miller hiding in a bathroom inside a clothes dryer. She was wanted on a warrant in Jackson County. She was detained.
Terry Lewis and Sebastian Harp were released from the scene but advised that a report requesting charges be filed would be sent to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office.
Cody Stannard, 24, of Bedford, was arrested on charges of possession of meth and a narcotic drug, unlawful possession of a syringe, and possession of marijuana.
Kennedie Miller, 32, of Medora, possession of meth, possession of a narcotic drug, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of a synthetic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the Jackson County warrant.
Jalen Snodgrass, 30, of Bedford, is facing charges of possession of meth, possession of a narcotic drug, possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a syringe
Snodgrass admitted he had used meth earlier that day.
Lewis said he used meth about two days ago.
Harp told police he uses both meth and heroin and used meth earlier that day with Snodgrass. He said he was smoking a cigarette when officers spotted Snodgrass and Stannard smoking marijuana. He said they didn’t answer the door because they knew Miller was wanted on a warrant.
