On May 28, 2024, Trooper Chance Humphrey and an Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section Detective initiated an investigation following the burglary of the Bedford business Infab, located at 2328 John Williams Blvd. The owner told the investigating officers he noticed a Millermatic 252 welder, the inert gas tank, and a grinder were stolen from the business. The owner also indicated the business had been closed from Wednesday, May 22nd, until Tuesday, May 28th.
During the investigation, the DES Detective noticed that a welder matching the description of the stolen welder was placed for sale on a social media platform. Those items were seized, including two cut straws containing residue of methamphetamine. The owner of Infab was contacted and arrived at the residence, where he positively identified the stolen items, including short steel.
The welder is valued at $4,500, the inert gas tank at $455, the short steel at $2,000, and the grinder at $100.
