Fourth person perishes from injuries in Memorial Day collision

DAVIESS CO. – The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says a fourth person has died from injuries received on Memorial Day in a two-vehicle head-on collision on I-69.

The two-vehicle accident was reported at 4:49 a.m. on I-69 near the 56.6-mile marker.

The sheriff’s office says 68-year-old Jeffrey Richardson of Lakeland, Florida, died from his injuries on June 5th.

Richardson was the only occupant of a pick-up truck involved in the crash.

Richardson was traveling southbound in the northbound lane when the collision occurred.

Three people in the other vehicle died at the scene: 30-year-old Chelot Corelien from Washington, 29-year-old Tenisha Thompson from Washington, and a third adult male passenger.

Police are not releasing the third passenger’s name due to the ongoing investigation.
