JASPER – Jasper Police arrested a Birdseye man Thursday after he threatened officers with a wooden cane.
Officers responded to South US 231 after a report of an intoxicated man being aggressive with emergency medical technicians.
While speaking with 70-year-old Tommy Allen, police say he made threats towards them while holding a wooden cane.
Police say he resisted arrest and had to be taken to the ground before he could be handcuffed.
Allen was transported to Memorial Hospital and medically cleared. He was transported to Dubois County Security Center on charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, resisting law enforcement with a deadly weapon, and public intoxication.
