INDIANAPOLIS – The flyover bridge that will eventually route millions of vehicles from I-69 northbound to I-465 westbound is a step closer to completion following a deck pour over the weekend. Once operational, it will significantly improve traffic flow.
One of the largest within the new I-69/I-465 interchange, the bridge spans approximately 714 feet and requires approximately 972 cubic yards of concrete to complete the deck. When this connection is complete, I-69 will offer a continuous route from Evansville to Indianapolis, covering 142 miles.
The entire system interchange, including the I-69 corridor between Martinsville and Indianapolis, is scheduled to open to traffic by the end of 2024. As America’s newest interstate, it will catalyze economic development in central Indiana and facilitate travel to and from Indianapolis and points beyond for years to come. Every milestone brings us closer to the finish line.
