Ivy Tech is hosting a free Intro to Semiconductors Workshop in July

BLOOMINGTON — Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is hosting an Introduction to Semiconductors training session July 1-3 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This free, three-day workshop is designed to open doors to local careers in the emerging field of semiconductors. The training is open to the public, and space is limited to 16.

“Participants will get hands-on skills training that paves the way for careers in the lucrative field of semiconductor manufacturing,” Michael Waterford, Microelectronics and Department of Defense Employer Laison at Ivy Tech Bloomington, said. “The workshop offers an entry-level overview for anyone exploring career pathways or wanting to make a career change.”

Ivy Tech faculty will lead interactive workshops on building robots, programming automation equipment, soldering, and circuit boards. Participants will also learn the fundamentals of the semiconductor industry and hear from local industry representatives and hiring managers.
