WASHINGTON – The Daviess Community Hospital Foundation and the Daviess Community Hospital Nursing Scholarship Committee awarded Amber Gerkin the $5,000 2024 Daviess Community Hospital Foundation Nursing Scholarship.
Gerkin has over 20 years of experience in wellness and healthcare. She will take her NCLEX exams this summer and will complete trauma certifications while working in the hospital’s emergency department.
The scholarship is designed for nursing students entering their final year of education. The funds are directly payable to the recipient, who must agree to remain employed at Daviess Community Hospital as a full-time registered nurse in direct patient care for two years.
