BEDFORD – Lawrence County Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline sentenced two Mitchell residents to prison after violating their probation terms.
Robert Riley, 24, pleaded guilty to a felony theft charge in April 2023 as part of a negotiated plea agreement. He was sentenced to 910 days in prison, with 702 days suspended, and was given credit for 104 days served. Riley was ordered to serve 545 days on supervised probation.
However, after violating the terms and conditions of his probation, Judge Cline revoked Riley’s suspended sentence and sentenced him to 700 days in the Indiana Department of Correction. He was given credit for 328 days.
“This defendant recognized that he needs help,” said Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Brittany Van Winkle. “Unfortunately, he was unable to utilize the services offered by probation and will need to work on himself while in prison.”
Annie Clevenger, 46, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of possession of meth in December 2021.
She was sentenced to 910 days in prison and given credit for eight days served. Judge Cline suspended her for 349 days. Clevenger was ordered to serve 365 days on supervised probation.
However Clevenger violated the terms of her probation numerous times.
Judge Cline revoked Clevenger’s suspended sentence and sentenced her to 170 days in the Indiana Department of Correction, with credit for 32 days served.
