Road closures for 4th of July and Limestone Heritage Festival are approved

BEDFORD— On Tuesday night at the Bedford Board of Works and Safety meeting, Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore proposed road closures around Wilson Park for the Fourth of July fireworks show. The closure would be for the roads surrounding the park from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4.

The closures proposed are as follows:

  • Denson Avenue
  • 22nd Street
  • Park Avenue
  • 19th Street

The proposed closure was voted on and approved by the board.

Sarah Turpen took the podium to request closure for select streets to facilitate the happenings of the Limestone Heritage Festival, which will be held downtown on the square in Bedford.

The proposed closures were as follows:

  • Closing J Street between 16th and 15th Street on Thursday, June 27, at Noon through Saturday, June 29, at Midnight
  • Closing M Street between 12th and 15th Street from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 29
  • Closing 15th Street between M and O Streets from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 29
  • Closing 16th Street and 15th Street between M and I Streets from 5:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in addition to I Street (between 16th and 15th Street) and Lincoln Avenue (between 15th and 12th Street) and 13th Street between Lincoln Avenue and M Street.
  • Closing of J Street between 10th and 14th Street for the BRI fireworks show.

These closures are the same as the previous three years. The proposal was voted on and approved.
