Loretta ‘Lori’ Darlene Dotts, 66, of Mitchell, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, surrounded by family, at her residence.
Born February 3, 1958, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Donald Hayes and Dorothy (Reynolds) Philpott. Loretta married Timothy Dotts on June 18, 1988, and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2024.
Loretta had previously worked for Mills Market at the deli counter, in shipping and receiving, in housekeeping at the Spring Mill Inn, and as a homemaker. She enjoyed her family, playing bingo, singing, and giving to charities. Loretta was known to have an overwhelming faith. She previously attended Holy Ridge Church in Needmore.
Surviving are her children, Jessica Dotts of Bedford, Jeremy (Tiffany) Dotts of Mitchell, David Hayes of Mitchell, Joshua (Jamie) Dotts of Bedford, and Alissa (Eric) Shoults of Mitchell; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and siblings, Bonnie J. Moser of Heltonville, and Ron Reynolds of Bedford
Her husband; parents; sons, Justin Dotts and Jerrod Dotts; grandchildren, Nori Berk and Shianna Dotts; and brother, Michael R. Hayes, preceded her in death.
The graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Patton Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Kevin Andry officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
