June 28, 1968 – June 20, 2024
Trenton Allen Jones, 55, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20th at his home.
Trent was born on June 28th, 1968, to Stephen Jones and Linda O’Dell Jones McCracken. He was a 1986 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, where he also played football. He then went on to attend Indiana University and graduated in 1990. While at IU, he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Edward W Jones, who also attended IU and was a Sigma Nu and a fraternity Brother with Herman Wells.
After graduation, Trent became a successful businessman as an appraiser and commercial real estate investor in Bedford and Bloomington. In Bedford, he established his own business (T Jones Appraisals) and restored the old Forty’s Fish building on J Street to house his business. As his business grew, he expanded to Bloomington to include commercial real estate. Again, he used his restorative talents to renovate what would become his Bloomington office at 408 South Walnut. Trent entered politics with his elected position as a Monroe County Councilman. He also made charitable contributions to the Miracle Ride for Riley Kids, the BBOR Toy Drive for Middle Way House, and People and Animal Learning Services.
In Trent’s spare time, he enjoyed family holiday gatherings, vintage camping with friends, cars, and motorcycles. He attended the City Church of Bloomington. He loved traveling, visiting state parks, car shows, and exploring historical hotels and landmarks. His adventurous spirit and quick, dry wit endeared him to many with whom he interacted during his lifetime.
Trent was preceded in death by his father, Stephen E. Jones; his paternal grandparents, Edward (Ted) and Ruth Jones; and his maternal grandparents, Reverend A. Glen and Gladys O’Dell and nephew. Kaden Cassidy.
Trent is survived by his wife, Priscilla Cuevas Jones; his mother, Linda O’Dell Jones McCracken; brother Jeff (Veronika) Jones; sister Stephanie (Pat) McKenzie; niece Kelsie Cassidy; Maternal uncles, Jerry O’Dell and James (Judith) O’Dell; maternal aunt Marlene O’Dell; stepbrother Rick (Laura) McCracken; stepsister Julie (Bob) Beaty and their daughter Sabrina; Uncles Larry, Mike (Kathy) and Gene (Janice) McCracken; Aunts Betty Jo Fausnaut; and Kathy Pickens.
