Toyota recalling 145,000 SUVs due to airbag issues

INDIANA – Toyota is recalling about 145,000 SUVs due to an airbag issue.

Toyota said the curtain shield airbag on the driver’s side of some 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander and Lexus TX vehicles may not deploy as intended during crashes if the driver’s window is rolled down.

The automaker is developing a remedy and will notify customers about this issue by mid-August.

Both vehicles are made at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana, in Princeton.

Toyota says it’s working on a solution for the issue.
