Linton Mobile Food Pantry is seeking donations of fresh local produce

LINTON- Greene County Health and the IU Center for Rural Engagement are looking to backyard gardeners from the community to donate extra produce to the Linton mobile food pantry for delivery on
July 15, 2024. The mobile food pantry takes place on the third Monday of every month, but this is the first Produce Donation Drive they have done.

The produce will be distributed at the Linton mobile food pantry on July 15. This drive-thru pantry is located at Humphrey’s Park in Linton, 1300 NE A St, Linton, IN 47441. It starts at 10:30 a.m.

Any produce that will be ripe/ready on July 15 will be accepted. Individuals can reach out to Cally Drake via email to arrange pickup or drop off at cnbuker@iu.edu. They encourage community backyard gardeners to participate if they have extra produce that will go to waste or more than they can use and are willing to donate a portion.

The mobile food pantry serves 200-400 individuals each month, so any produce donated will be put to good use in the community.
