Charles Lester Baxter, 80, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at IU Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born September 24, 1943, in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Lester and Florence (Warner) Baxter. He married Patricia Brown on June 9, 1973, and she preceded him in death. He retired as a welder for Manchester Tank Co. in Bedford.
Survivors include a son, Bryan Baxter, and wife, Tina; a daughter, Shana Davis; two granddaughters, Danielle Holtsclaw and her husband, Dylan, and Christina Baxter; four grandsons, Chad Baxter and wife, Amy Josh, Zach, and Dustin Stevens; seven great-grandchildren, Levi Holtsclaw, Estella, Makiya, Zavier, Radyn, Mathew, and Kolt Stevens; several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a brother, Richard Baxter.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
