Delilah Marie Taylor, 94, of Bedford, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born January 5, 1930, in Williams, she was the daughter of Lavon A. and Beatrice (Gee) White. She graduated from Williams High School. She married Robert A. Taylor on May 7, 1949, and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2000. She was a manager at the W.T. Grant Store, retiring in 1975. Delilah was a member of the Fayetteville Baptist Church, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she enjoyed painting, gardening, and camping with the Airstream Club, and traveling, she has visited all 50 states and three countries.
Survivors include her son, Stephen Mark Taylor, and his wife, Kathy of Williams; a son-in-law, Wayne Teague, and his wife, Marianna of Bedford; four grandsons, Chad Teague and his wife Brooke, Shea Teague and his wife Hollie; all of Bedford, Stephen Taylor and his wife Angela of Kentucky, Andy Dorsett and his wife Melissa of Brazil; a granddaughter, Christy Slaughter of Bedford; five great-granddaughters,
Hadley, Campbell, and Harper Teague, Shelby Slaughter, and Ava Dorsett; four great-grandsons, Crete Teague, Spencer Taylor, Wyatt Taylor, and Joel Dorsett; one sister, Saundra Eagan of Williams; several
nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Trella Marie Teague, one granddaughter, Lori Pruett, a grandson, Robert Teague, in infancy, and two brothers, Bob E. White and Joseph White, sisters-in-law, Peggy and Mary White, and a brother-in-law, Larry Eagan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024, with Pastor Kenny Walden officiating. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made in Delilah’s memory to the Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services Group.
