MARTINSVILLE— A dog was shot during an argument between two men near Martinsville.
Morgan County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the dispute on Thursday afternoon at State Road 67 near Martinsville.
Police say both men were in an argument when one man pulled out a gun and began firing shots. Some of the gunshots went through the door of a home, police said.
One bullet traveled through the door and struck a dog that was inside the house. The dog is currently being cared for at a local animal shelter.
Police have not released the names of the men involved in the gunfire. They have not released if any charges have been filed.
The investigation is ongoing.
