RICHMOND – Friday before 5:00 a.m., detectives from the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division at the Pendleton District initiated an investigation at the request of Wayne County Sheriff Randy Ritter into the death of inmate Andrew Scott Taylor, 36.
Wayne County Correctional Staff discovered Taylor unresponsive and immediately rendered medical attention to Taylor without success. Taylor was later pronounced deceased.
The Wayne County Coroner’s Office, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, and Richmond Fire/EMS assisted the investigators.
The family notification has been made.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. No foul play is suspected, and no more information will be released at this time.
